Disability in the Workplace Training

This two-part instructor course provides practical training on understanding disability, meeting legal responsibilities, and confidently applying inclusive practices in the workplace. On completion of the course, attendees will have the knowledge and confidence needed to support disabled people effectively. This includes understanding different types of disabilities and workplace barriers; applying the Equality Act 2010 in workplace situations; identifying and implementing reasonable adjustments; using assistive technology; and handling conversations around disability in a clear, compliant, and supportive way.
The training consists of two half-day sessions: “Understanding Disability & Legal Responsibilities” and “Applying Inclusive Practices in the Workplace.” People can attend either session as a stand-alone course, although we recommend attending both sessions to build a strong foundation of knowledge and being able to apply this confidently in workplace situations. Delegates will leave with tools such as checklists and templates that can be used within their organisation. The skills and approaches covered in this course focus on applying knowledge in real workplace scenarios, supporting a more inclusive, confident, and legally compliant workplace.
