One-day courses are available at your site for £795.00 plus vat (up to 8 attendees).

Half-day courses are available at your site for £595.00 plus vat (up to 8 attendees).

Introduction

If you have the Microsoft Planner Premium licence, you’ll have access to powerful new features that enhance Planner with the capabilities of Project for the Web, turning it into a more robust project management tool.

This half-day or one-day course covers the essentials of the standard Planner and explores the premium features that allow you to manage tasks, timelines, dependencies, and goals more effectively. You’ll learn how to use Planner Premium for both simple task management & advanced project planning.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

    • Navigate Planner and create personal or group plans.
    • Organise and track tasks using buckets, labels, and timelines.
    • Use premium features such as milestones, dependencies, and critical path.
    • Monitor project progress with advanced views, charts, and reporting.

Pre-requisites

We recommend that all those who attend are able to use the mouse and the keyboard to select and open menus and icons.

Getting Started with Planner

  • Accessing Planner via Microsoft 365.
  • Navigating Planner, My Plans, My Tasks, and My Day.
  • Creating personal plans or group plans for Teams.
  • Introducing Portfolios to manage multiple plans.

Organising Plans with Buckets and Boards

  • Creating buckets to organise tasks.
  • Adding tasks to buckets.

Managing Tasks

  • Creating and assigning tasks.
  • Setting due dates and applying labels.
  • Adding notes or checklists.
  • Moving and copying tasks.
  • Creating recurring tasks.
  • Editing task details.
  • Deleting tasks.

Working with Your Plan

  • Using different views.
  • Filtering tasks by date, resource, or critical path.
